What a chemical peel does
Chemical peels gently exfoliate the damaged outer layers of skin to reveal a smoother, brighter, more even complexion underneath. They can improve tone, texture, fine lines and pigmentation, which makes them a good option when your skin looks dull or uneven.
At my Roseville practice I use VI Peel® and Dermalogica®. I select the peel for your skin type and goals, so it is a controlled, customized reset and not a standard treatment applied to everyone the same way.
In the Cake System this is the Surface layer. Once the structure underneath is supported, we work on the quality of the skin that sits on top of everything.

Chemical peels questions
Text me at (916) 280-0949 if your question isn’t here. I would rather answer it before your visit than have you guess.

What should I do before a chemical peel?
Avoid retinoids, exfoliants, waxing and active skincare products for 3 to 5 days beforehand. Arrive with healthy, non-irritated skin and avoid excessive sun exposure before treatment.
What should I do after a chemical peel?
Keep your skin moisturized, do not pick or peel it, and use gentle skincare only. Daily SPF is essential. Avoid heat, sweating, saunas and active products until your provider advises.
Is there downtime?
Yes, depending on the strength of the peel. You may have redness, tightness, dryness and visible peeling for several days as the skin renews.
When will I see results?
Skin often looks brighter and smoother within a week, with continued improvement in tone, texture and clarity as the skin fully heals.
How often should I get chemical peels?
Most patients benefit from a series spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, followed by maintenance sessions every few months depending on skin goals.
How much do chemical peels cost in Roseville?
Chemical peels at NP Empowered Wellness start at $300. Your consult covers which peel fits your skin, and Cherry and CareCredit payment plans are available.
Who should not have a chemical peel?
Skin rejuvenation treatments may not be appropriate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active skin infection or open wound in the treatment area, or have certain uncontrolled medical conditions. A history of poor wound healing, severe skin sensitivity or a recent aggressive cosmetic procedure may also mean waiting. I complete a full medical and skin assessment at your consultation.
