AFTERCARE
Immediately following your treatment, you may notice some mild redness, bruising, swelling, tenderness, and an itching sensation in the treated area. These symptoms are temporary and typically resolve within 3 to 4 days. However, for lip filler treatments, initial swelling may persist longer, generally lasting 7 to 10 days. It is common for the injected area to appear uneven and possibly feel hard during this swelling period.
To manage swelling, we recommend applying a cool compress to the area initially after treatment. Please avoid placing ice directly on the skin; instead, wrap ice cubes in a clean tea towel and apply on and off for a few hours.
Additionally, please refrain from consuming alcohol for the first 24 hours post-treatment, as it can lead to increased swelling and bruising.
Should you experience sharp or extreme pain, significant bruising, or white blanching of the skin after your treatment, contact us immediately at 916-243-5098.
It is important to avoid exposing the treated area to extreme heat sources (such as the sun, sunbeds, hot tubs, or saunas) and extreme cold until the swelling has completely resolved.
If you have a history of cold sores, please be aware that the needle trauma may trigger an outbreak.
Refrain from touching the treated area for at least 6 hours following your treatment to mitigate the risk of infection. Do not apply makeup for 24 hours. Although you may feel the urge to touch, it is essential to resist, as doing so can lead to infection and improper filler placement. You may cleanse your face as usual, provided your hands are thoroughly clean.
Avoid Strenuous exercise, avoid saunas and hot showers until the swelling has subsided.
Additionally, please avoid swimming for 24 hours to allow injection points to close, and refrain from strenuous exercise until swelling has subsided.
How Long do results last?
Dermal Fillers are long lasting but not permanent. Results can vary, however a duration period of 6 to 9 months is to be expected. But some of our fillers are 15 months. The treatment may need to be repeated to give optimal results at a follow up appointment around 2 to 4 weeks later.
